This Privacy Policy applies to the Android app “Video / GIF Downloader” (package: com.tweeterdownloader.socialsaver, published via the Google Play Store) and explains how the app handles information. The app does not collect, store, sell, or share any personal data.
1. Links you paste
When you paste or share a social-media post link into the app, the app sends that link, over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection, to public third-party media-resolution services (currently api.fxtwitter.com and api.vxtwitter.com) and then to the media network, in order to find and download the video, photo or GIF you asked for.
- The link is used only to fetch the media file and return it to you.
- We never receive, log, or store your links on our servers, the request goes from your phone directly to those services.
- The third-party services have their own privacy practices; we do not control them. Do not paste links you do not wish to process.
2. Automatic update check
The app contacts tweeterdownloader.com/app-version.json to see whether a newer version of the app is available. This request contains no personal data and no information about you or your use of the app, it is the same request made equal for everyone, like loading a webpage. If no policy file is reachable, the app simply continues working; nothing about you is saved or transmitted.
3. Data stored on your device
The following stays only on your phone and is never uploaded to us:
- Your settings (download folder name, quality preference, auto-detect toggle)
- Your download history list
- Downloaded media files themselves
- The last read clipboard link, if “Auto Detect Link” is on
Uninstalling the app (or clearing its data in Android Settings) removes all of the above permanently.
4. Permissions and why the app needs them

The app has no access to your contacts, location, camera, microphone, messages, call log, or advertising ID, and never asks for them.
5. Clipboard use
If “Auto Detect Link” is enabled in Settings, the app reads the clipboard only while you are using the app, looks for a post link, and if found, fills the input box. The clipboard content is processed on your device only and is never sent anywhere by us.
6. Third-party services involved
- Google Play Store (app distribution and app updates). When you update or rate the app you may interact with the Play Store, which is governed by Google’s own privacy policy.
- fxtwitter / vxtwitter API and the social media network (fetching the media you requested, see section 1).
- The app contains no analytics, no advertising SDKs and no tracking libraries.
7. Children
The app is intended for ages 13 and older and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, including children under 13.
8. Your rights
Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete on your behalf. For anything stored on your device, you can use Android’s app-data clearing or uninstall the app. If you believe you have found a privacy issue, contact us and we will respond.

10. Changes to this policy
If the app’s behavior changes (for example, if advertising is added in a future version), this page will be updated before that version is published, and the “Last updated” date at the top will change. An app update that introduces material changes will also be accompanied by updated Play Store declarations.
